To get to the Mui Tsz Lam, you can take KCR to the University station, and than head to the bus stop, whic is just opposite to the KCR station, to take the bus No.289K to Chevalier Garden.
After getting off, you can go through Chevalier Garden, where you can find a little brigde, leading to Mui Tsz Lam Road. Walk along the Mui Tsz Lam Road for around 20 minutes and you will reach the entrance into the Mui Tsz Lam Village.
Mui Tsz Lam literally means: "Forest of Plum", with exactly the same English and Chinese name. On Hong Kong map, you can find two places called Mui Tsz Lam. The first Mui Tsz Lam is located near Chu Mun Tin and kop Tong, within Plover Cove Country Park. Double Haven lies in its east, while Tiu Tang Lung and Wu Kau Tang lies in its south. But this time... i'm going to look at another Mui Tsz Lam in stage 4 of the MacLehose trail within the Ma On Shan Country Park.
The first time i came to this Mui Tsz Lam in the fasting month of moslem last years. Early morning on that day i prepare everything that i need, for example my own HK ID Card, my sweet camera, my mobile phone, my wallet with some money, and my small towel. All of that things i put inside my small bag. On that day is the fasting day so i no need to prepare any water or any food. From apartement that i lived, i need to walk to the upper bus terminal called Wong nai Tao bus terminal. Start from that terminal i going up to step to the first villages that many bungalow and small beauty villa's around there. Its was so fantastic when walk along the way, you can see all around you was so green and you can smelled the taste of fresh grass when the shines of sunrise going to burning the earth around you.
Just walked for few minutes you can find the small stream. There is a stream gurgling in Mui Tsz Lam. And the stream bed are full of rubbles with different shapes and carpeted by moss with different green colours. You will became totally beguiled by unique features of Mui tsz Lam when you see that stream gurgling. For me, vitality prevail in this tiny but that's really unique place. And at that time suddenly i go down to the stream just wants to touch the water of the stream. I wash my hands there, playing water for a while and of course taking a foto for few second. Thats placed really make me felt like i was going back in my old memories when i was very young over many years ago.
I'm not alone there, in another side on the stream under the tree i saw an old man was enjoying the water of the stream. He washing his hands and he moved inside the stream to washing his face and his leg. After walking around just for hiking, is the best idea to get the fresh moment by washing your face in that tiny unique stream.
During the heavy rain, you can see everything became wet. But after the heavy rain, the great amount of water will keeps pouring down to the stream, is offering a great opportunity for scenic photography. When everything still wet, which is rather contrasted with those in normal dry days. But this time is sunny day without any rain. So i can enjoyed to walk around to the stream in Mui Tsz Lam without feeling worried to be slippered when stepping on the stone of the stream.
After that i walking home by following the step way that already has been design very nicely and safety.
